This week, we speak with Dr. Deborah Serani. She is an expert in depression, specializing in its treatment and living successfully with the disorder since childhood. She is a licensed psychologist in practice twenty five years, an associate professor at Adelphi University, and author of the award-winning books, Living with Depression (link here) and Depression and Your Child: A Guide for Parents and Caregivers (link here), by the Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group. She is also a TedX speaker (you can view the video below).
Dr. Serani is a go-to media expert with interviews in Psychology Today, The Associated Press, Newsday, The Chicago Tribune, Scientific American Mind, CNN, WPIX and Ebru News and affiliate radio programs at CBS and NPR, just to name a few. She writes the “Ask the Therapist” column at Esperanza Magazine and has worked as a technical advisor for the NBC television show Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
