Episode #122 - John Frisbie - Alliance Counseling Services, LLPC
Mar 26, 2019Today’s guest is a very special one for Dallas - it’s his personal therapist, John Frisbie, MAMH, MDiv, LCPC, owner of Alliance Counseling Services, PLLC. Sitting down face-to-face at John’s new offices, they cover a wide variety of subjects such as John’s journey in the field of mental health, how depression and anxiety fit within the goals you and I set for ourselves, faith and significance, and mental programming within our mind.
John Frisbie enlisted in the West Virginia Army National Guard at 18 and then went to West Virginia University on a 4-year ROTC scholarship. He served for 13 years in the Army. In today’s episode, he discusses how that first career ended in confusion and depression, which is what directed him toward seminary. There, he gained a Master of Divinity, and later, he also received a Masters in Mental Health Counseling. He has been a fully licensed, clinical professional counselor since 2016; and he just recently started his own practice, Alliance Counseling Services, PLLC.
John considers himself not just the Owner, but also the Lead Helper at Alliance because their philosophy of therapy works to develop partnerships with their clients to encourage, support, and enhance lasting change. Their counselors utilize evidence-based, effective strategies to foster sound thinking, healthy living, and uplifted spirits. They strive to live the way they hope everyone will live - deliberately at peace, inside and out.
